Miss Ethnic Non-Specific
Miss Ethnic Non-Specific began as a stage play written and performed by Kristina Haddad. The show explores Kristina’s journey to find identity and self-acceptance as she navigates the barriers in Hollywood acting, dealing with racism and misogyny as leading roadblocks. A descendant from Lebanon, Syria, and Greece, Kristina was told she was too “ethnically non-specific” to be cast in most shows. Now she is telling the story of her pain and resilience through a relentless and beautiful pursuit of acting. The play is full of humor, poignant growth, and ultimately a story about what it really means to be seen and loved.
The show performed to sold-out audiences in Portland, Oregon in 2017. After an overwhelming response, Kristina is now working in collaboration with filmmaker Clare Chun to create the feature film of “Miss Ethnic Non-Specific.”
